Christmas in the City- Day 1...

My mom and step-dad were kind enough to take us all up to visit New York City this December! It was magical seeing the city all decked out in Christmas decorations. Of course, we picked a cold week to go, but we didn't know better... it was just cold. I'm sure everyone could tell we were tourists because we had the girls wrapped up like there was a blizzard outside...

Mom and I got them all bundled up and headed out on first outing. Once we got the store and started taking all of the layers off of the girls, we realized that they were sweating! Between the wind shield and foot muff, they were always warm. It was nice to not have to keep up with gloves, hats, and jackets all the time! Calla actually liked slipping her hand out the side and feeling the cold air. Crazy girl.

I could tell when I saw a real New Yorker because they had their 9 month old in sweat pants, socks, and a fleece jacket with hands, ankles, and bald head exposed to the elements and everyone seemed fine with it including the baby. Leslie was the biggest kid I saw in a stroller by far. We couldn't even zip her leg sleeping bag up all the way! But I know she doesn't like to walk much, especially fast, so the stroller was a must!

The first stop we made was the Build a Bear Workshop...

Then we strolled over to FAO. The girls had alot of fun on the giant piano, but Calla wasn't quite heavy enough to play the keys without stomping...
Finally, on our way home, we stopped in the M&M store and got a treat... All in all, a VERY good start to our vacation!
